JAPANESE BASEBALL STADIUM, THE EGG

What I could use right now is a good old fashioned baseball game. But the season will not start for another month and all I'm left with are memories of games. And I'm left with pictures of a time that thrilled the dickens out of me, the Tokyo Dome. The stadium is known as the 'Egg' because it resembles an egg.

During the day it's a huge metal structure with lots of street activity rushing by on all sides and there is an arcade and fairgrounds right next to the stadium, too, and that certainly adds to the frenzy and fun atmosphere. But it's the night time activity surrounding the stadium that really stands out in my mind. The Egg is lit up and the arcade and fairgrounds come alive with hundreds of people playing games, eating soshi, noodles and fried fish as well as tradtional ballgame food. It was really quite special to come out of the stadium and see all that activity.

Looking at these pictures takes me right back there and then I don't mind waiting another month. Well, yes, I do mind the wait, but with such great memories the waiting is not so terrible.
